The GAX tabletop is made of solid lumber similar to a butcher - block but looks much better. The base is crafted from marine - grade stainless steel, hand - polished to a mirror finish, a difficult but worthwhile job. We choose stainless steel over the common chromed steel because chrome is a cheap and environmentally - harmful option.
